NABARD initiative for storage warehouse

National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) offers incentive to Bank for Warehouse Loans.
  1. Bank can avail loan at 8% p.a. for refinance in Warehouse.
  2. Bank paying loan on schedule will get 1.5% rebate loan payment.
  3. The scheme has been conceptualized out of Rs. 2000 crore dedicated fund in Union Budget 2011-12.
  4. This will create 9 million tonne of additional storage capacity.
  5. All Kisan Credit Card holders can avail loan at 7% p.a. interest rate for stored for maximum of 6 months post-harvest.
  6. Warehouse established by farmers must be accredited to Warehouse Development and Regulation Authority (WDRA) to be eligible for loan.

The National Identification Authority of India (NIAI) will issue identification number (called "Aadhaar" number) to residents of India and any other category of people that may be specified. The NIAI shall have a chairperson and two part-time members. Aadhaar Numbers Every resident of India (regardless of citizenship) shall be entitled to obtain an Aadhaar number after furnishing demographic and biometric information. Demographic information shall include items such as name, age, gender and address. Biometric information shall include some biological attributes of the individual.
